This is our second part of my blackwork flower design. It has been lovely to see your start on this project, but now we begin working on the actual blackwork patterns. As I have split each petal shape as a separate design then I hope you will find it easy to follow. If you are just joining us then please go back to the 15th May to find all of the details for this exciting project.
I will look forward to...

I am starting another part series today which will run for 12 weeks. My last one was such a success as I know how many of you really liked it, not only perhaps learning a new technique but being able to work on small sections at a time. Just one comment from me is I hope that there won't be any mistakes, but in order to provide charts like this for you to stitch they have to be simulated ones...

Well, sad that we came to the end of the Blackwork anemone, but it has been delightful for me to see how many of you joined in with me on that project and loved working on it. There will be another one coming up shortly, so as they say, 'watch this space!'
This week Cross stitch Crazy, in issue 255, printed my image of the iconic landmark of Stonehenge. Great fun to work on and hopefully I put a 'Lesley' mark...

Well, 12 weeks, and now we can add the final touch to complete my design of the blackwork anemone. It has been so lovely to see your stitching as the weeks have gone by.
Time permitting, then I would love to work another part series for you all as it does seem quite a sensible way to work on smaller sections, not so daunting. And, I think many of you are now converted to blackwork and have enjoyed the stitching.
Happy stitching...

Thank you to those of you who have sent in the names of popular North American birds and I have already made a start on my first one, a chickadee, which will be incorporated into another blackwork design.
My latest picture to be added to my website shop is of two mandarin ducks. The design is fairly simple to stitch as...

The blackwork part on the anemone petals is complete so over the next five weeks we will be adding the cross stitch leaves, flowers and butterfly to complete the cross stitch areas before finally adding the all important two strands of back stitch to the main flower.
In the May edition on CrossStitch Crazy you can find my pretty Easter cards and gift tags to stitch.
I need some help please with names of popular North American birds as I am hoping...

One more blackwork design to try on our last petal of the anemone flower. Next week we will be starting to add the leaves that surround the flower as the backstitches on the anemone which will be in two strands, will be the last part to work on.
This week I added my latest blackwork design with colour to my website Shop. This time, the bird is a Goldfinch, that nestles amongst Blackwork flowers, some based on sunflowers.
Have a good week...

Cold start to the day, although not too much snow, as yet.
Thank you to all you lovely stitchers that replied to my last week's blog, saying that you were keen to work on this new project. So here we go with the start of my blackwork anemone design that will 'run' over about 12 weeks as a part series.
We start with the centre of the anemone with cross stitches and French knots, or you can change these to petite black...

A change in our weather if you are in the UK; much colder, but where I live in Suffolk, there have been wonderful crisp, white coated grasses and trees to see on my early morning walk. Wrapped up well it has been a pleasure to be out walking Tilly as the pale sun starts to break through.
The first picture is my latest design for GOLD, issue 153, which is out now. I only have the simulation as my copy of...

Well, we have got our Owls off to a good start and it has been lovely to see more stitchers joining with us in our lovely group. Super to see the start and the completion of the...
