Summer time

I decided to have some time off with David and Tilly this past week - not doing very much except for enjoying the sunshine and watering the plants. Tilly hasn't been for an afternoon walk for weeks because of the heat, but playing ball in our large garden, where we can keep an eye on how much she does, keeps her very contented. It was lovely getting pictures of my Hydrangea design sent to me by Anita Redina Hendro last week. Stitched on such pretty fabric and it's interesting to see how a design can be altered and influenced by a choice of fabric. Glorious sunflowers

Keep your home feeling sunny all year long by stitching the rolling hills and bobbing sunflowers of this landscape. Hi everyone, I have added two new large floral designs this week to my growing! selection - this time Anemones and a Lily. All these designs use only whole cross stitches, although a couple do include French knots plus a couple of backstitches if there are insects for the detail. Busy week

Just trying to do catch - up this week. I think because the weather has been so good, I got somewhat waylaid in the garden so work got a bit behind! Deadlines today, but thankfully made it for GOLD, so everyone is happy. 

I transferred another large floral to my new section this week - a mauve rhododendron - which I think is lovely, especially the colours. And, in this month's issue of GOLD Cross Stitch magazine you can find four...

Floral sampler

I was delighted yesterday when this picture arrived of one of my floral designs from a stitcher in Hong Kong. So beautifully stitched by 'T' and I love her choice of fabric. Thank you for sending it in 'T' - much appreciated. Quite apt, as the June motif for our LJT Floral sampler SAL is out this Friday. As you can see this time it will be the colourful poppy. Hope everyone is getting on well with it all.

Another week

Another week gone by, but here in the UK, especially where I live in Suffolk, the weather has been beautiful and sun is forcast for all of today. The landscape certainly looks like Summer with the darker greens on the trees and the vibrant red poppies that can now be seen in the hedgerows and fields.

I have decided to make a few changes to my Shop page, or at least Rachel Watson, my website designer will soon. A couple of sections will be removed. One is the needlepoint designs, as there doesn't appear to be enough interest in this style of needlework. This will be replaced with my Blackwork and cross stitch pictures that are so popular and I think they deserve a section on their own.

I know, but that word has to be said occasionally....you may not wish to start stitching for Christmas quite this soon but I hope you will still like to see these four jolly snowmen that I have added to my shop today......and they will still be here when you are ready to start. 

Hope, like us, you enjoyed seeing our Royal wedding last weekend. I just love to see  the colour and pageantry on the screen. It must have been wonderful...

A little late updating my Wednesday Blog. My computer seemed to take ages downloading and updating the files this morning......

A picture of our Labrador, Tilly, who is now 9 months old...plus a week! As you can see she is nearly fully grown, just the filling out bits I think now. Considering she is classified as a teenager and supposed to be pushing the boundaries, overall she is quite good.

Yet another sunny day here in Suffolk. David and I have certainly had glorous weather here this weekend to enable us to do 'catch - up' in the garden, although we are still a couple of months away from seeing glorious poppies like these.

Floral designs are a lovely way to add year - round colour to your home, and you can't get more colourful than these beautiful red poppies which can  be found in the latest edition of GOLD Cross...

Hope you are enjoying the latest Sunbonnet Sue design for May which I posted on the 1st.

I am so pleased to say that I have another blackwork design to add to my collection. This time a glorious kingfisher, set amidst bullrushes, iris and waterside flowers and of course, not forgetting, a beautiful Swallowtail butterfly.
